Ingredients Needed To Make Pull Apart Garlic Bread
These ingredients are based on what I like to see on my garlic bread. However if you are not a fan of parmesan cheese, or mozzarella cheese then feel free to use cheddar or the cheese of your choice.
- 1 Can Pillsbury Biscuits I prefer the extra flaky version
- 6 tbsp Butter
- 3 Minced Garlic Cloves Can substitute 1/2 tsp of dried garlic for each garlic clove. If you are a huge fan of garlic then add an extra garlic clove or two.
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Grated Parmesan Can substitute 1/4 cup dried parmesan
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Grated Mozzarella
- 1 tbsp Fresh Minced Parsley Can substitute 1/2 tbsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
How to Make Easy Pull Apart Garlic Bread
Here are the step-by-step instructions I followed in order to create this garlic bread recipe.
- Spray your muffin tine with a cooking spray like pam and preheat oven to 350 °F
- In a microwave safe bowl melt butter in microwave, this usually only take 15-30 seconds for butter that is room temperature. Once butter is melted add minced garlic, garlic salt, and minced parsley to the butter mixture.
- Cut up each of the Pillsbury biscuit rolls into quarters and add the pieces to the butter mixture and coat all of the pieces in the butter.
- Add the parmesan and mozzarella cheese to the bowl and coat the biscuit pieces evenly.
- Place 3 pieces of the garlic bread into each portion of the muffin tin. Be mindful that the bread will rise and you do not want to over fill the container.
- Place muffin tin into the oven. Half way through cooking pull container out and check the Garlic Bread (about 7 minutes into cooking). Check them to make sure they are not being over cooked or unevenly cooked. If they are done to your liking remove from the oven. I prefer mine to be a bit done on top so I will but them back into the oven for up to another 7 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before trying to remove from the tin.
Tips and Tricks
Fresh minced garlic is the secret ingredient that brings all the flavor to this garlic bread recipe. Being generous with the fresh garlic will make all of the difference in making this a side dish that will keep people coming back for more.
Adding grated mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese to this dish take it to the next level with flavor. If you want to you can omit the cheese. But come on, if you had the option to have garlic bread or cheesy garlic bread which one would you choose? I will go for the cheesy garlic bread option every time.
I always melt my butter in the microwave ahead of time and add the garlic and chopped parsley. Letting the garlic sit in a small bowl in the warm butter while I cut up the bread allows the garlic to infuse the butter with flavor.

Pull Apart Garlic Bread Options
If you’re a garlic lover, there’s no doubt that pull-apart garlic bread holds a special place in your heart. This mouthwatering creation is not only delicious but also incredibly satisfying to tear apart and devour. Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or simply indulging in some comfort food, here are some fantastic pull-apart garlic bread options to consider:
Classic Garlic Parmesan Pull-Apart Bread:
Start with a fresh loaf of Italian or French bread and make deep cuts into it without cutting all the way through. Generously brush melted butter mixed with minced garlic between each slice, then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top. Bake until golden brown and serve warm for an irresistible treat.
Cheesy Bacon Garlic Pull-Apart Bread:
Take your garlic bread up a notch by adding crispy bacon and gooey cheese to the mix. Follow the same steps as above but also layer cooked bacon bits and shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese between the slices of bread before baking. The result? A cheesy-garlicky masterpiece that’s sure to please any crowd.
Herbed Butter Pull-Apart Garlic Bread:
For those who enjoy the fragrant aroma of fresh herbs, this option is perfect for you. Combine softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, rosemary, thyme, and any other herbs you love. Spread this herbed butter mixture generously between the cuts on the loaf of bread before baking until beautifully golden brown.
Spicy Jalapeno Cheddar Pull-Apart Bread:
Add some heat to your traditional garlic bread by incorporating jalapenos and sharp cheddar cheese into every bite! Mix diced jalapenos (seeds removed for milder flavor) with melted butter and minced garlic before spreading it over each slice of bread along with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake until bubbly and golden for an addictive twist on classic pull-apart garlic bread.
What If I Don’t Have Fresh Garlic Or Parsley?
Dried garlic or crushed garlic that you can buy prepackaged from the store works just as well in this dish.
Remember that dried garlic is potent and has been dried down to half the size of fresh garlic. Just substitute 1/2 tsp of dried garlic for each garlic clove that the recipe calls for.
You can buy bottled fresh crushed garlic from the store. If you prefer to used bottled fresh garlic then remember that 1 tsp of crushed fresh garlic is equal to one chopped garlic clove.
Parsley can also be purchased dried from the store. The same rule for dried parsley applies as it does to garlic. I add 1/2 tbsp of dried parsley to my mixture instead of the 1 tbsp of fresh parsley.
If you do not want to use the garlic butter option you can always substitute the butter with olive oil, just cut the amount of oil in half.
If you are not a huge fan of garlic you can substitute Italian seasoning for the garlic cloves. Whatever you choose the outcome will be delicious. I have tried it both ways and I always go back to using butter.
How do I cook the garlic bread?
I happen to think the magic of this pull apart garlic bread recipe happens by baking it in a muffin tin like this one.
By cooking it in the muffin tin it creates perfect serving sizes which make this a great option for potlucks or family diners.
It also allows the butter, fresh garlic, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese to melt together perfectly making. This makes the sides and bottom develop a crispy buttery cheesy crust and the top to be a golden brown color.

How do you reheat garlic bread?
If you have stored your garlic bread in aluminum foil then you have the perfect tool to reheat it in.
I preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place the wrapped garlic bread into the oven. I prefer to leave it in for up to 10 minutes.
Check them after about 5 minutes to see if they are warm, if so remove them. Keeping it wrapped prevents it from drying out. Remove from the oven and enjoy.
What can I serve with garlic bread?
This is a versatile side that can compliment a variety of meals.
Traditionally garlic bread is paired with soups or my turkey chili recipe. However it can be added as a side to any soup or salad meal (think olive garden bread sticks) as well as meals that have a beef main dish. Such as my Air Fryer Meatloaf or Easy Beef Stroganoff.
I love taking these as my contribution to potlucks.
Whatever you choose to pair them with they will be a delicious addition.
